NaNoWriMo 2017: So it Begins

As I dive into this new adventure, I will be guzzling more coffee than is probably healthy for me, but maybe it’ll cause me to run faster? It’s what I tell myself, anyway. Today is my first official day for NaNoWriMo–And it is one minute past midnight! I decided to go to bed for a couple hours, then get up for an hour to write, purely to celebrate this new beginning! Tomorrow morning, LOTS of coffee for sure!

This will be my last NaNo post for a while, but I wanted to commemorate this moment in cyberspace! First, I will take my outline that I’ve worked on in the last several weeks. I ended up following a NaNo suggested blog, which gave me the basic story arc plus several more detailed crucial points to include.

Basically to get started, I’m just going to go for it! I have the idea laid out, and now it just needs to get on paper. I turned off my spell check so I won’t get distracted by the red and blue lines. Most often, I don’t even watch what I’m typing. I imagine what I want to play out in the scene and let my fingers do the work. We’ll see if this holds up for the next 30 days.

I’d love to hear about times that you took on a challenge! What was the purpose? What spurred on your motivation? Did you succeed? If not, what was something that you learned?
